- Trial By Fire
When Auxiliarist Dean Terencio received a request to teach a safe boating course to the Yukon River Drainage Fisheries Association earlier this month, he was not expecting a trial by fire, forest fire that is. - Coast Guard Auxiliary Health Services Presenting Exhibit at NACON 2005
Learn more about the Coast Guard Health Care Support Program to help promote it to your membership and the community. Please plan to visit the exhibit and find out how you can assist in supporting the health care activities of the Coast Guard, the Auxiliary, Active Duty, and Reserve. Find out about what is available and help communicate that to your membership and to people who are not in the Auxiliary but who have health care skills and will join the Auxiliary to volunteer to participate in the program. We look forward to seeing you at the exhibit. Look for the banners with the logo: "USCG AUXILIARY HEALTH AND SAFETY".

- New Department of Training Newsletter
The Quest (PDF:1127 KB / 5 pages) is the quarterly newsletter of the National Department of Training. This issue highlights the AUXLAMS course. There is an extensive FAQ to answer many of your questions. Also, be sure to read about what has been happening in the National Department of Training in the article “So Check on Training”. - V-Department Workshop Make-up Available On-Line
Historically, Auxiliary workshops have been delivered in a classroom environment. This approach allows for interaction of the students and instructors and provides a relevance to the local area of operation. To enhance our delivery capabilities the 2005 V-Department Work is being offered on line at http://safetyseal.net/workshops/workshop/. Participants will receive completion credit by completing the enrollment form at the end of the review. Questions relative to the workshop material can be posted on the web site's Q & A link.

- Working Blue Uniform
The Working Blue Uniform is no longer be stocked at the UDC and no new orders will be accepted. Any order that was placed and not received before 09 August 2005, will not be fulfilled. All checks and charges will be reimbursed where necessary. The WBU can still be worn as long as it is serviceable.

- Auxiliary Aviation Patch Available
The new Auxiliary Aviation Patch is now being stocked at all District Auxiliary Center, (AUXCEN) for purchase. All Aviation personnel will refer to COMDTINST M16790.1.F., Chapter 10 pgs., 64, 65 and 66 for proper placement of all Flight Suit Insignia, Qualification Devices and Patches.
