- Heat and Hydration
For information on your place in the sun and protection from heat and dehydration, read Heat and Hydration. Extreme heat conditions are impacting upon large areas of the country, and there is an increased potential for heat related illnesses and dehydration. You may believe that you can tolerate heat. However, when the weather is so warm and the heat index rises to the levels as high as they have been occurring recently and are expected to continue, you should take measures to avoid the heat and compensate for increased fluid loss. Dehydration can occur insidiously. When you realize you are thirsty, you are already behind in your drinking and becoming dehydrated. It may be hard to catch up on your fluids that same day. So think ahead, avoid the heat if possible, and stay hydrated.

As explained, "A SMEE, 'subject material expert exchange' is an opportunity for emerging volunteer search and rescue (SAR) organizations to obtain ideas and advice that will help them in their endeavor." A slate of highly experienced and dedicated facilitators gathered to share their expertise with the attendees. Read this article about the progress of our brother and sister SAR organizations and the assist they are receiving from our Auxiliary, now on SITREP, the Auxiliary's National e-magazine.

- WWW.CGAUX.ORG Moved to New Server
In preparation for a series of improvements scheduled for the remainder of the year, www.cgaux.org has been relocated in total to a new server. With almost 300 million bytes in nearly 18,000 files spread over 200+ directories, there is more than a good chance that we might have missed something here and there, so please provide our Webmasters with feedback should you discover something that appears amiss.
There may be some confusion with jumping between the old site and the new site while the IP Address of the new site gets propagated through the domain name servers and routers of the Internet in the next couple of days, and we clean up any loose ends. Hopefully very soon, all will be back to normal and most all of your old bookmarks should be working as before without change. We expect that you will find the new server to provide a faster and overall improvement of service over the old machine.
