- NACO's message on 66th anniversary of the Auxiliary
Thursday, 23 JUNE 05, marked the 66th anniversary of the formation of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Read the rest of the National Commodore's message. Anniversaries are a time of reflection, to celebrate accomplishments, and rededicate one’s self in those areas that need further improvement. As we enter into the long 4th of July holiday weekend - one of the busiest for our organization - I ask you to reflect back on our accomplishments (both personal and organizational), and celebrate our successes. Moreover, in those areas where we have had suboptimal results, I ask you to join me in rededicating yourself to make these areas a success by this time next year. The bottom line is - we must remain ready, responsive, and resolute, in order for our organization to continue to serve our country for another 66 years. Thank you for your dedicated service to the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

- Marketing 101: Analyzing Your Target Market
Dartboards are often used in marketing to represent what is called "target marketing." You aim your advertising, promotions, and marketing initiatives in order to reach your targeted audience. But who is your target market audience in recreational boating safety? Defining your target market is based upon research and analysis of your local boating statistics then using that data to profile the demographics of your audience. Find out more in the May/June issue of Marketing 101.

- ShopAuxiliary News
Go to www.ShopAuxiliary.com and view the merchants that are supporting the efforts of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Through affiliate programs with these merchants, you may shop online for products they offer. In addition to any online discounts they may offer, when you go to their site through the link on www.ShopAuxiliary.com, these merchants provide a royalty to the Auxiliary organization that helps support our various programs. Please consider using our links on www.ShopAuxiliary.com whenever you purchase items online from these merchants so that our organization benefits too. As you will note, we now have eleven (11) merchants offering a wide variety of items that may be useful to you. Please continue to visit www.ShopAuxiliary.com to watch for the addition of more merchants. Check out the new look for www.ShopAuxiliary.com that makes it easier for you to shop online. Watch for additional improvements to the site. We plan to separate "MEMBERS ONLY" special programs onto a separate page that only members may access by entering their EMPLID and their eDirectory password then link to the sites that provide special member discounts only to you as an Auxiliarist. Of course, your friends, family, and others that you know or may have contact with may use the merchants on the www.ShopAuxiliary.com site and help support the Auxiliary programs through their purchases.

- Local Unit Webmasters
We have good news for Flotilla, Division and District webmasters currently hosted on the National server! We are in the process of installing a new, larger and faster server to host your unit website. We will be accomplishing this during the summer months and when complete we think you will be pleased with your new home.
As part of the process, we advise you of the following:
- You should be sure you have your current site fully backed up, in the event there is any disruption in physically moving the old server or in migrating your site from the old server to the new one. During this process, we will be making a physical move of the old server to a new facility. During the physical move, the old server and ALL local websites will be *off line*. We expect this period to be several hours or longer. We will post the actual date of the move and estimated downtime on the CS Guide: http://csguide.auxservices.org/version2/www/news.php when that information becomes available.
- Once the physical move of the old server is complete, we will then begin the process of migrating your unit website from the old server to the new server. In that process, *you* will be republishing your site directly to the new server. You will have a new website address. There will be no more "~" (tilde) in the address!
The new server will provide additional space for your website, as well as new tools including Front Page 2003 extensions. You can publish either via MS Front Page or FTP. Additional details of the new service resources as well as the actual migration process itself will be posted on the CS Guide News Page, as they become available.
We are informing you now to give you as much lead time as possible. We suggest that you check in at: (button located at the CS Guide home page http://csguide.auxservices.org) on a frequent basis for the very latest information. You should do this at least until you have your new site established on the new server. That will be your best source of up to date information!
